On the 16 and 23 February 2010 the Shop Doctor, retail marketing specialist, Diane Jackson will be in town to talk to independent Denbigh retailers and high street businesses about their marketing during a short series of surgeries to be held at Brookhouse Mill, Ruthin Road, Denbigh LL16 4RD.
The topics covered during the surgeries are all marketing related including customer service, promotion & advertising, visual merchandising and are specially designed to help Denbigh retailers give their business a boost during the recession.
During the surgeries we can jointly examine the issues faced by Denbigh businesses in light of the new retail park opening, the threats and opportunities this can create, as well as the possibilities of:
Denbigh ‘Old Town’ becoming a visitor attraction.
The Shop Doctor would also like to look at ways that Denbigh retailers can encourage more local shoppers and discuss the possibilities of a shop local scheme.
The surgeries are held in the evenings, so that businesses do not have to close during the day.
There will be finger buffet and refreshments served, so you don’t pass out from hunger, and plenty of opportunity to talk to the Shop Doctor (Doctor Di is very approachable and knowledgeable) and each other.

Phil Jones, Bistre Farm Shop, Buckley: “Course was good - very beneficial. Would certainly recommend it to others and attend any future ones. Retailers can assume their customers will come back but the course taught us that you can’t rely on that - there’s always more you can do to inspire your customers.”
Colin Welch, ESP Hair Studio, Queensferry: “We really enjoyed the course and got an awful lot out of it. It was very helpful and informative. Our manageress is inspired to implement lots of new ideas, which are paying off. Our business has improved of late and we’re hoping to capitalise on that.”
Corinne Eliot, Deeside Balloon & Cards, Shotton: “We found the course very informative and helpful - thoroughly enjoyed it. First course of its kind we’d ever been to. The course materials are very useful and we’ve highlighted different things we’re going to implement after our holidays. We’ve got renewed confidence and optimism after the course.”
